EN 16001 Energy Management Standard

Gyproc was awarded the Energy Management Standard EN16001 for the Kingscourt Plant in Co. Cavan. Gyproc are among forty one companies to be certified with the EN 16001 energy management award. In addition to providing a set of standardised requirements for energy management, EN 16001 is also a framework for energy management best practice.

It is our policy to maintain the highest standards in energy management and environmental responsibility and we are committed to the efficient use of resources at our site where currently 90 per cent of all waste and 50 per cent of all water is recycled.

 

The EN16001 certification process was carried out by Certification Europe, the world’s leading certification body for energy management certification. EN 16001 is a European energy management standard which provides a framework for energy management best practice to aid organizations in improving their energy efficiency in a logical, controlled and systematic way.

 

Operating to EN16001 will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint while increasing energy awareness among staff, leading to greater knowledge of equipment efficiencies and informed decision making processes.
