Technical Academy
Opened in May 2010, the purpose built Saint-Gobain Technical Academy offers regular training courses to up skill and educate trade professionals, merchant staff and customers in all aspects of Gyproc’s range of products, systems and their application in accordance with current construction techniques and standards. All courses are presented by experienced personnel with extensive practical and technical expertise. The Academies facilities also boast dedicated product display areas and working areas for hands on practical plastering and plasterboard system demonstrations.
Throughout the duration of 2012 courses offered by the Technical Academy will include:
- Gyproc Plasters – The range and their application
- Renovate Right – Ensuring thermal and acoustically comfortable buildings
- Energy Efficiency – A definitive guide to ensuring compliance with Part L and more
- SpecSure – Signing off Gyproc systems with confidence and competence
- DryWall – Have you considered metal?
All of the courses listed combine elements of theory and practical demonstrations, with hands on involvement where appropriate. The frequency of the courses varies and where applicable we may be tailored to meet specific individual requirements. In addition to events within the Academy, we also offer Architects and Specifiers an RIAI approved CPD in ‘Metal stud partitions, wall linings and ceilings’ which can be undertaken within you own premises, presented by one of our technical specification team. Other external training courses and presentations may also be arranged to ensure our customers can specify and construct Gyproc systems with the knowledge that they meet the construction industries rigorous standards, requirements and expectations.
