Airtite Plaster:

By applying a 6mm Gyproc Airtite parge coat to one side of a masonry block work wall, test evidence has proven that it is possible to achieve an air permeability performance level of less than 0.35 m3/(h.m2)@50 Pa for the perimeter wall element once installed to Gyproc recommendations.

Building Regulations Technical Guidance Part L now requires that reasonable care should be taken to avoid excessive heat losses and to limit the air permeability of the envelope of all new dwellings. A performance level for all new dwellings of 10m3/ (h.m2) represents the upper limit for air permeability.

In this context, ‘envelope’ includes total area of all perimeter walls.

A single coat of Airtite plaster should be applied at an approximate thickness of 6mm as a parge coat, the maximum thickness Airtite plaster can be applied is 11mm. It is possible, using a series of applications, to build up a maximum thickness of 16mm (8mm+8mm).

When dotting & dabbing boards you can apply Gyproc Compound to Airtite plaster when the plaster is set but it is good practice to let dry out before applying.
