Project Background

This residential timber frame house just outside Cookstown, Co. Tyrone was built by the homeowners for their growing family.

The Challenge

The key requirement for the homeowners was to ensure the house was future proofed for their growing family and their future needs.  The client required plasterboard with a superior fixing strength, impact resistance and acoustic performance throughout the property which would allow them to decorate and change their property, as their family grew, with little inconvenience; would be durable enough withstand buggies, trikes and bikes making their way through the property; and also contributed to the overall acoustic performance of the home.

The Approach

The fixing strength of Gyproc Habito provided the family with the flexibility to design their home for their current needs but also gave the homeowners the option to move or install televisions, brackets, shelves, curtain rails, pictures and many other fixtures and fittings without the need for timber grounds. With a growing family Gyproc Habito also greatly reduced the possibility of damaged walls while providing superior acoustic performance to standard plasterboard.

“We wanted to build a family home that can adjust and grow with the needs of our family, Habito gave us that security.”
