Plasterboard Allocation - 28.05.21

Dear Customer,

As you are no doubt aware, pent up demand combined with raw material shortages is leading to supply issues for certain building materials.  Whilst we are experiencing strong demand, thankfully the supply of our product categories have been relatively unaffected to date.  Though we have kept market developments under close scrutiny due to the rapidly changing situation.

One recent development that has the potential to impact the Irish supply chain is the introduction of plasterboard allocation by UK manufacturers. Whilst we currently have no capacity issues regarding the supply of plasterboard, the introduction of allocation by UK manufacturers has the potential to cause a surge in demand for Gyproc plasterboard.

Thus, as a precautionary measure and to ensure a fair distribution amongst all customers, it is now necessary to put Gyproc Plasterboards on allocation from June 1st.  Customer allocations will be 100% of their average volume purchased for the 3-month period from June 2020 to August 2020.  This allocation is foreseen to run for the months of June, July and August.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you, but we believe this is necessary to maintain normal service to our customers and protect against any potential panic buying.  

All other product categories, with the exception of plasterboard and metal, remain unaffected by allocation.  Your local Area Sales Manager remains at your disposal to support you and answer any queries you may have.
