Gyproc – Building Ireland’s Future Since 1936

Gyproc is Ireland’s leading manufacturer of plaster, plasterboard, and drylining systems, proudly serving the Irish construction industry for nearly a century. Our story began in 1936, when Gypsum Industries was founded in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, marking the start of local plaster manufacturing in Ireland.

A Legacy of Innovation and Leadership

From our early days milling gypsum in the 1930s to the opening of Ireland’s first plasterboard plant in 1947, Gyproc has consistently led the way in construction innovation. Over the decades, we’ve expanded our operations, opened new mines, and invested in cutting-edge facilities to meet the evolving needs of Irish builders and homeowners.

In 2005, Gyproc became part of the Saint-Gobain Group, a global leader in sustainable building solutions. This partnership has strengthened our commitment to delivering high-performance, environmentally responsible products.

Committed to Community and Sustainability

Gyproc is more than a manufacturer—we’re a community partner. From planting 40,000 trees in Co. Monaghan to supporting Barnardos Ireland and building homes for those in need, we’re dedicated to making a positive impact.

We’re also focused on the future, with a clear goal of achieving Net Zero Carbon and continuing to innovate for a more sustainable built environment.

Proudly Irish, Globally Connected

As Ireland’s only plaster and plasterboard manufacturing facility, Gyproc remains deeply rooted in the local community while benefiting from the global expertise of Saint-Gobain. Recognised as a Top Employer in Ireland and Europe, we’re proud of our people, our heritage, and our role in shaping the future of Irish construction.
