Gyproc is delighted to announce a new Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SSE Airtricity, marking a significant milestone in our sustainability journey.

What makes this initiative unique is that the green energy will be generated on-site.

A solar farm, currently being installed on Gyproc’s own land, will feature over 3,600 solar panels, supplying 15% of the site’s electricity needs. This locally produced renewable energy is a major step forward in reducing carbon emissions and advancing Saint-Gobain’s net-zero ambitions in Ireland.

“This is a big leap forward on our journey to a net-zero carbon future for Saint-Gobain in Ireland,” said a John Crosse, Saint-Gobain’s Supply Chain & Circularity Director. “Producing clean energy on our own land is a proud moment for our team and a clear demonstration of our commitment to sustainability.”

This initiative is part of Saint-Gobain’s broader environmental vision. Our goal is that by 2050, we must not emit any more carbon than we absorb. We must be carbon-neutral. This net-zero carbon ambition is a very concrete manifestation of the Group’s purpose: “Making the world a better home.”
